Today, I will be celebrating my heritage with my momma at The Black History Festival today.
A friend from church invited us, and gave my momma two entry tickets (one for me and the other for her). When a guest arrives, they will also be given a special wristband. So we will get one as well.
Our friend's daughter attends a charter school, so they are the ones that are in charge of this entire organization that they do annually.
Personally, I am exited to be going there.^^
As it is a festival, there will be rides and games and music and food!
And speaking of food (my favorite subject), there will be many vendors out there selling all kinds of delicious dishes and treats.
It is sort of like the Morning Market in downtown of our town, where tents are set up and people are selling food and items such as jewelry and other objects people may buy.
The best part for me about it: samples are free.
That means from all those food vendors out there, I get to taste and try all the many mouth-watering goodness in one day.
My stomach will be full and satisfied, because there is plenty to eat and enjoy. XD
Usually when I am at a fair or festival, my stomach and I cannot resist the look, smell and taste of these snack foods:
1. Funnel Cake with Powdered Sugar.
2. Candy and Caramel Apples.
3. Cotton Candy.
5. Snow Cones.
They go in order on which I love the most.
Anyways, today for me is going to be fun because I am spending time with family and friends at a place that is really fun.
We start getting ready at around 9 am (an hour from now) because the festival starts at 11 am.
So I have some chores to do and get done before than.
Well, good morning to you all and thanks a lot of stopping by and reading my journal!
